The new year brings forth new video games that every gamer wants to get ahold of. It’s another year of incredible game releases, but not everyone is looking forward to similar games, many are probably only excited about a few or maybe just one game. Whatever the case may be, gamers at least have something to look forward to, especially during pandemic times. There have been many new releases since the year started. My list consists of only 5 games that have yet to be released at the time of writing this, and why I chose each.

Little Devil Inside

Little Devil Inside is a Kickstarted game that is being developed by Neostream, and fortunately, they have exceeded their funding goals. The premise of the game revolves around action survival RPG mechanics, focused on exploration, and has a minimalistic but vivid style. One is able to interact with humans, creatures, and monsters; learn to hunt, journey, survive and traverse the world not yet explored. This is why I am very excited to get my hands on this kind of game, I love the RPG genre so this is a must-play for me. The game still has no release date as of yet sadly, but it should be released sometime this year.
Biomutant

Bio Mutant is another RPG that is set in a post-apocalyptic world that will be released on May 25, which involves the use of Kung-fu. It is an open-world game that relies on an interesting martial art-styled combat system. This will allow the player to mix melee, shooting, and mutant abilities that will keep the combat from getting stale.
Another unique aspect of the game is the ability to re-code your genetic structure, which will determine the playstyle and look of the player. The player is also able to craft their choice of a weapon from many different parts you find in the world. All of this sounds like a game just for me, again I am into open-world games, but this one also has interesting combat mechanics that I'm looking forward to figuring out.
Back 4 Blood

I can’t wait for the release of Back 4 Blood on June 22, it is being developed by the original people that created Left 4 Dead, now called Turtle Rock Studios. This is technically their next successor to that game, unfortunately after separating from Valve they lost their rights to the Left 4 Dead IP. Similarly, to Left 4 Dead, the game is a cooperative first-person shooter that puts the players on challenging missions, while fending off monstrous creatures called the “Ridden,” which essentially are zombies that the original game had.
These creatures can be controlled by the AI or a player, just like in Left 4 Dead. A unique aspect of Back 4 Blood is that it will be implementing a card system that will let the player create different decks that will create a different experience every time. The original game was one of my favorites to play and this will be no different.
Resident Evil Village

This will be the 8th installment of the Resident Evil Franchise, Resident Evil Village is a horror survival game that is set after the events in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. It involves the use of survival horror mechanics that puts the player in terrifying situations. The player will have weapons to combat enemies, but ammo is limited so they must be careful not to use it all up. I grew up playing some of the games within this series and for the most part, found it to be a scary but fun experience. Especially, the Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7 games, so I want to continue playing this latest addition.
God of War Ragnarok

This is a beloved series of mine that will forever be one of those series that I will never forget. The latest installment was God of War (2018), which was such an amazing title that I could not be more than satisfied with. God of War Ragnarok will undoubtedly be just as good and if not, better than the previous title. There is still a lack of any information on this brand-new title, but my guess is that it will have similar gameplay and include a story just as compelling as in God of War (2018).
God of War (2018) was a huge turning point in the series in terms of how the game changed from hack and slash to a fully explorable world that was unlike the previous games. This brought a breath of fresh air to the series that left me wanting more.
